A family business that are welcome to give lessons and ridesLocated in Wheaton, Maryland in Montgomery County, WPS is a family-oriented riding stables specializing in group lessons, trail rides, pony pal lessons, and summer camps. Our motto is “where generations learn to ride” – we have one family who have grandmother and grandfather riding here, their children having had lessons here when younger, and grandchild riding here.
WPS has been in existence close to 60 years. The current owner worked for 30+ years in a professional office, at which point she decided to make a dramatic career change at the most challenging point in her life. She likes to point that out to the children and young adults here – noting “never say never, and don’t ever give up on your dream!” She has now been operating WPS since January, 2008 – eight wonderful years of enjoying horses, students, families, family pets, and our wonderful mouse control program comprised of Oliver and Maisie, our two orange tabby mouse catchers!
