Wakefield Park

The Equipment
There are two small tot lots; one located next to the RECenter and a fenced one near the baseball field.  Unfortunately, the equipment is very basic.  For such a huge park, it would be nice for them to add a larger play space for all ages.  The one located next to the RECenter only has a steering wheel, tunnel slide, side-by-side slide, benches and a sprinkling of picnic tables.  The tot lot by the field has a tunnel slide, side-by-side slide, two tic-tac-toe-boards, a couple of benches, and a solo picnic table.
The star of the show is the Wakefield Skate Park.  Adjacent to the RECenter, it was buzzing on a Sunday afternoon.  My kiddo enjoyed watching her older peers on skateboards, mountain bikes and roller skates.  We even saw one family plant an umbrella and sit to have a picnic while watching the children show off their moves.
The Scene
Wakefield Park features tennis courts, baseball, softball and soccer fields and numerous trails.  The park includes Audrey Moore RECenter.  There is plenty of parking to visit the two tot lots or the skate park.
