Rippon Landing Neighborhood Park
The Equipment
The one play structure rests on a mulch surface. Unfortunately, there are no swings here, which I think would be a nice addition. There is a climbing wall and mountain, tunnel, suspension bridge, musical instruments like drums and shakers, and both a baseball and tree themed tic-tac-toe board. The shaded playground also has a spiral slide and a textured side-by-side slide.
The Scene
A small and unmarked gravel parking lot sits outside the entrance to the park. It’s located on a busy street so be careful if you have small children. The park has a dirt path leading to the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, while a paved sidewalk leads to the playground. It’s approximately a 5 minute walk to the playground from the parking lot. There is a reservable picnic shelter with grill. Adjacent to the playground are two horseshoe pits and a volleyball net. Less than a 5 minute drive is The Shops at Stonebridge, which has nice dining options.
