Prince William Forest Park

Prince William Forest Park is approximately 35 miles south of Washington, DC and offers group tent camping and cabin camping. There are three frontcountry camping areas and one backcountry camping area.  Reservations are required for any campsite and each has a variety of amenities. Enjoy 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of biking trails in the forest!
The park is open daily from dawn to dusk.
Not into camping?  Consider hiking on their 37 miles of wooded trails.  As their site says, “where else can you hike an 18 mile loop and get back to Washington, DC for dinner?”  Check out their hiking guide, which talks to all the different options available.
The park charges $5/single passenger vehicle or $3/person walk-in, bike-in or motorcycle.  The pass is valid for 7 consecutive days.  Tip:  You can also visit this park for free on special Free Entrance Daysin the National Parks throughout the year.,
