Ellsworth Urban Park

The Equipment
The equipment on the two structures is new and modern.  The preschool set can enjoy a rope cargo climber, monkey bar and rope bridge combo, steering wheel and a single slide.  There are a pair of horse spring rockers and an adorable bumblebee and flower seated teeter totter.
The older crowd is will have fun if they love slides.  There is a short curved one, long regular one and long tunnel version.  Also neat is the bridge made from a series of ropes and the hammock seats under the structure.  There is also a rock wall and two corkscrew climbers attached to this structure.
As if that isn’t enough, there is also two standing spinners and a giant balance ring that spins.  A large set of three pentagon shaped domes are morphed together for climbing enthusiasts.  To complete the space are a quartet of swings.
The Scene
I highly recommend visiting this wonderful park in downtown Silver Spring.  The equipment is newer and in great condition.  There are also tennis courts and a water fountain.  The picnic area is partially shaded and also has two tables to play checkers or chess. Opt for street parking or adjacent to the park, locals informed us that you can park in the library parking lot and walk down the long flight of stairs.
If you didn’t pack a picnic and are feeling restless, there are several family friendly eateries within a 10 minute walk.  Options include Chick-Fil-A, Baja Fresh, Burger Fi and Cold Stone Creamery.
Age Recommendation
