Claude Moore Fun For All Playground

The Equipment
Claude Moore is a similar concept to Clemyjontri, but on a smaller scale.  The bouncy rubber surface is a reassurance for parents.  There are opportunities galore to balance such as various beams and stepping stumps.  A four person teeter totter has high backs for children needing more support along with four spring rockers that have very good spring power!
Opportunities abound for those wanting to reach new heights literally!  There are two rock climbing pieces including a traditional wall as well as a semi-circular one that you can climb over or crawl through the structure.  The most popular equipment was one of two cargo net pieces, with the favored one being the giant spider web as I called it.  However, it looks more like a soccer ball.  There were more slides than I could count, but there is definitely no shortage.
Of the six swings available, there is a harness swing for children with special needs, one bucket swing for wee ones, and four standard swings for the older set.  Little ones can bang on drums, crank gears, steer wheels, play tic-tac-toe, crawl through bumpy caterpillar-like tunnels, and enjoy their own mini play area.
The Scene
If you’re stopping through Warrenton’s historic Main Street, take a detour with the kids to Claude Moore Fun For All Playground.  Part of the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility (WARF), in addition to athletic fields, a skate park, and skating rink rests the colorful playground.  There are plenty of shaded areas to watch the children play.  The park overlooks a lake and trails.  Bring a picnic and sit at one of many picnic tables; they even included a pint sized version for tots.  Or head down the street to Foster’s Grille which also offers both indoor and patio seating.
Age Recommendation
Good for all ages.
Restrooms
Avoid the yucky portable toilet adjacent to the playground and go inside the WARF.  The clean bathroom has a low sink and changing station.  Kids will gawk at the leisure pool outfitted with water slides and a lazy river.  Non-residents are welcome so it’s already on our return trip list.
