11th & Monroe Street Park
The Equipment
The toddler area features a train depot and train which was mainly used by older kids to climb on top of. There is a teeter totter and four seated Omni Spinner (a plastic, high backed, modern version of a merry-go-round). Older kids can hop on the 11th & Monroe Street streetcar with a double slide, spiral slide, and cylinder style rope climber.
The Scene
This corner park is in a nice area. The enclosed park contains a playground, open space, benches, tables with chairs, and a water fountain. Street parking is extremely limited with permit parking only allowed Monday through Friday from 7 am to 8:30 pm. We were able to park outside one of the two entrances to the park without issue during our weekend visit. There is a Red Rocks Pizza a block away and a two minute drive takes you to Z Burger, Ruby Tuesday, and Sticky Fingers Bakery in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.
Age Recommendation
The sign reads 2 to 12, but older kids would definitely be bored with the lack of exciting equipment.
Restrooms
None.
