District of Columbia Quidditch Club
District of Columbia Quidditch Club, or DCQC for short, is coming into its third year as a team and its second as DCQC. Last year, our first as DCQC, we were crowned the Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions on our way to a strong showing at USQ Cup 9 where we lost in the round of 16 to Northwest Regional Champions Boise State in overtime. As a certified 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization, we aim to create a quidditch-positive community in the DC metropolitan area while working to help the teams around us grow for a sustainable future. In the past year, we’ve been granted space at AWESOMEcon, begun a lasting partnership with the Bowie Baysox (AA MiLB affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) for an annual Harry Potter Night at the Ballpark, and worked with the Chestertown Harry Potter Festival to put on an exceptional early-season unofficial tournament there. With a load of projects in the works, DCQC is helping to build a community that will last a long time. Of course, the competitive season is still where our eyes are set; this year, we aim to defend our title as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions and get even further on the national stage.
